New info on The Sims 4 Get Together!
A few days back The Sims posted a new blog about Windenburg, featuring a lot of Concept Art!
The Sims 4 Get Together will release in December 10th 2015, and I personally can’t wait to see more of the new world Windenburg.
The concept art shows an Old Town that is inspired by European cities. I mostly recognize a Tudor style in the architecture, as well as German house styles (is that Tudor as well?)
But Old Town is not the only area in Windenburg, there is going to be a newer part as well. While we have not seen actual game screens from this, we have seen some awesome concept art.
The style seems very modern, which fits the the image of a European city. They say since a lot of European cities are so old, there are a lot of old buildings in those towns. But as time goes by, new buildings will be built alongside. That mixture of old and new is something they wanted to capture in this new world.
The concept artists sought out and experimented with different styles, playing with designs, and seeing how things can blend in together. It turned out to be a mixture of contemporary construction and 16th century English Tudor.
As the idea of what styles should be in the new world developed, they had to take a step back and see the overall picture – the map! The image below shows a concept art of what the map could look like, which apparently comes really close to what it will look like in the game! You can see a few indications of neighbourhoods – the island, the business area with the modern buildings, a countryside area and the town centre with old Tudor houses.
We saw some concept art of what seems to be the island in Windenburg Lake. On one side of the island, sandy flat areas with fishing docks. On the other, a mansion overlooking the sea (and if you’re lucky, you might catch a view of Windenburg’s elusive sea monster)
The blog prompted a discussion on Twitter around the pigeons on the first image in this post, and if they would be in the game. SimGuruLyndsay said pigeons and the market stalls didn’t make it to this expansion pack (maybe another!) but there will be sheep and duck as environmental FX! Don’t know what that is? Don’t worry, she tweeted a screenshot of what it would look like. It’s sheep you can see moving in the background or around the neighbourhood, but can’t interact with. Looking at it, it seems that this is a background kind of thing for the country side area.

Some other Twitter extras that were answered by SimGuruLyndsay are:
- No hidden lot in Windenburg, but there are special lots that are harder to get to. Just not hidden like Sylvan Glade or Forgotten Grotto.
- The market stalls were a really early idea for Windenburg, but unfortunately didn’t make it in Get Together.
- No windmills or houseboats. (though there are electric windmills in the background, according to the blog)
For now this is the information we got on The Sims 4 Get Together. I’m getting more and more excited about this new expansion pack.
What about you? What would be your favourite new spot in this new world?
