The Sims & SimCity Community
It’s decision time! A name will be chosen for the Community Stuff pack, so we can all stop calling it Community Stuff pack. The developers have already gone through a selection process and narrowed the options down to a short list. Get your vote out here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PackTitleVote The name tells a lot about the content of a pack. For Toddler stuff it was very clear what it was about, same with Perfect Patio. That is one of the reasons why there was a pre-selection of pack names and names like “Player Choice stuff” and “Stuffy McStuff Pack” didn’t make the cut. Although Stuff McStuff pack does fit the humour The Sims has! Look at all those nice items that will come with this pack! Lots of stuff to explore! Have fun picking a name for it! It’s that time of year again, Gamescom is approaching. This is the biggest European Games show/convention of the year and we will be attending! SimGuruDrake has already stated on the The Sims forums that there will be no announcement for The Sims 4, there will however be a panel and Q&A with SimGuruLyndsay and SimguruRachel on Thursday August 18th. The good and fun news, this time the panel isn’t just for press, fansites and youtubers/creators but for everyone! There are a limited amount of places though, but if you are at Gamescom August 18th, and want to join, be sure to contact SimGuruDrake on the forums or on Twitter. We will be there as well, and for those that can’t but still have a few questions that they want to ask, let us know and they’ll go on our...read more

The Sims official Magazine seems to have a new name, The Sims Mag. It is without the ‘official’ name like before. Next magazine will be released in December. I’m curious what this new name/brand will bring to the magazine. Keep an eye on their social media and sign up for the news letter by going to their new website. ...read more

Here is the link to the survey: beyondsims.com/meetup-survey I wanted to share some of the amazing comments we have gotten so far, they make me teary-eyed! I had such a wonderful day, so thank you for organising it. I was so sad to leave in the end, because it’s crazy how fast you make friends when you all share a common hobby. Thank you for doing the meetup this year, I’ve made some friends from it! You’re amazing for doing this! Seems like we soon get our very own SimCon thanks to...read more

SCTweak allows you to manually add overpasses (bridges) and tunnels to your city. I was able to play around with this modification for a bit to see how it works, and it worked the way I imagined it would. I do have a few complaints, but I still think the mod is worth the download! It doesn’t use the road guides the way I would like it to, and it isn’t really friendly with the curved and curvy road tools. Other than those small complaints, I highly suggest you check it out if you’re interested in placing bridges and tunnels in your city where you want. The modification doesn’t require you to modify game files, rather it works as a separate piece of software that runs in the background. Please note: Maxis doesn’t fully support modifications as of yet, so install and use them at your own risk! Check out this video to get an idea of how it works: Download & More Info...read more
