The Sims 4 Terrain Manipulation!

Written by Annabelli_22

Yesterday was the very first Maxis Monthly live stream.

This was a live stream for Maxis games, The Sims 4, The Sims Mobile and The Sims 4 Console, as well as The Sims Freeplay from the FireMonkeys studio.
More about those announcements in a different post.
We’ll focus on the announcements for The Sims 4 PC/Mac here.

The stream started off with a statement that the Ocotber patch, is postponed and will not be coming this month. The team felt they needed longer to really polish the content that will be coming with this patch. There is no new date for the patch, just the “soon”.

New career

SimGuruNinja and Geoff (not yet known by a SimGuru name, but perhaps one day) joined SimGuruKate to show off some new content that will be coming with the promised patch.
A whole new career will be available for everyone through the update, the Style Influencer!

You start as a Rag Reviewer, and later have the opportunity to pick one of the two branches: Trend Setter or Stylist.

This career new career is very similar to the ones that came with The Sims 4 City living, where you can direct day-to-day activities of your sims by working from home, or you can send them off to work and into the rabbit hole. There are daily tasks to complete, as well as new activities you can do, like write reviews on the pc and do a make over on other Sims!
When you start out as a Rag Reviewer, where you mostly work on your writing skill, but as you progress other creativity skills will get more presented too, like photography, painting etc.

New items

There was also a new items shown that will come with the patch that will also tie in with the new career, but is a standalone object. The sketchpad is basically a digital easel that you can take with you. The categories are the same as for on an easel, just with one extra addition, the illustrative category. All digital paintings show up as a physical item in your inventory when your Sim is done, so you can hang them on the wall or sell the art.

Terrain manipulation

And now the big reveal they had during the live stream, terrain tools! While SimGuruKate and SimGuruNinja were going on and on about the Game Changers program, SimGuruRomeo was moulding away with the terrain, showing a few of the new possibilities with it. Think of what you can do with all that terrain manipulations and awesome creations you will see on the Gallery.

New livestream

A live stream with more information about the terrain manipulation tool has been announced for Thursday October 11th at 7pm UK time.
