Last week the game got a huge update, which revamped Create-a-Sim, and added the ability to create an even wider range of Sims. More about that in a minute!
The update also brought us a lot of other amazing things, so we wanted to highlight a few you might have missed and a few you couldn’t have missed, but are still awesome. Not all of these were listed in the patch notes. When I found one of the hidden extras, SimGuruRusskii pointed out it is hard to mention everything in the notes and some things might not be mentioned.
@platinumsimmers @TheSims It is tough to add all the things in the notes, in case you don't see that lol.

Lighting
There were a few hints and teasers on Twitter and in the The Sims 4 Dine out trailer that we would be getting an update to the lighting in The Sims 4. It looks absolutely stunning! It works best if your settings are all on high, otherwise you might have to fiddle with it a little to get a good result.
New interactions
Besides that beautiful lighting, they also added a few new interactions!
Your Sims can now get a glass of water from the fridge or straight from the tap. Nice and cool, right? This also fullfills the hunger bar for you Sims, although not by much.
Now, the question is, is the glass half full, or half empty? Your Sims can ponder over that!
Ask to just be friends. The nightmare of any Sim in love. But sometimes, the feelings just aren’t mutual (any more) and you want to be, just friends.
That is now possible. This interaction will reset the romantic interst to 0 but the friend status remains.
Build Mode
There has been a few complaints that there weren’t enough colour options for the carpets in the game. That has been fixed. The 2 carpet options each received (I believe) 7 new colours!
We also got a new poster – “Plumbosian”. It’s a colourful poster that will brighten up your room. It’s listed under Paintings & Posters, right between the tragic clown painting and the plumbob painting we got with the last patch.
You’ve always been able to snap chairs to tables, then move the whole set. Now, it also works the other way around – place a chair first and a table can snap to the chair!
User Interface
The User interface got a slight update, which appears to be in preparations for The Sims 4 Dine Out and restaurants. A cash register is placed in the bottom right corner, next to your Sims other information, allowing you to buy a retail store or view the ones you own. Expect restaurants to appear here once Dine Out is released. (NB This might only appear if you own The Sims 4 Get to Work.)
