The Sims 4 Kits – New DLC type

Written by Annabelli_22

A new DLC type for The Sims 4 has been dropped TODAY!
The Sims 4 Kits are a new type of pack, which will allow The Sims team to focus on a certain subject, without it fitting in a larger pack theme.
Now, there has been a lot of different reactions to kits before we had the official release on social media, we are not here to tell you to like them or hate them, we try to be objective in reporting.

Right off the bat, The Sims 4 has released 3 Kits.
Kits are split in categories for Build/buy, Create-a-Sim and Gameplay. So if you are purely a builder and not interested much in CAS items? Then you can skip that pack.
For Simmers this is a option to be more selective in what content they get. (I personally have caved an bought a Pack just for Build/Buy items XD )
It feels a little similar to the The Sims 3 store, except that this will be on Origin, and you can’t pick individual items over a bundle/pack

Kits cost less than a Stuff Pack, for $4.99 per pack (which will most likely be the same for € and £ or close to it).

The Sims will also be showing the kits on a live stream, today at 7pm UK time

The Sims 4 Bust the Dust Kit

Bust the dust brings dust and vacuums to the game. This is what you would call a Gameplay kit.
Aside some vacuums that you can buy in build/buy, this pack is more for the gameplay it adds to the game.
Once you have this kit installed, your Sims houses will accumulate dust (per floor) and it’s your Sims’ job to maintain it.
The dust bunnies are generally friendly and you can even interact with them. But neglect the dust, and it will only get worse.

This Kit also has 2 new aspirations. Fabulously Fitly and one for the clean side.

Have the kit but don’t want your Sims having to deal with dust? You can toggle it off in the settings menu. It’s not like laundry stuff where placing any of the active items will trigger the game play.
The Cats & Dogs robot vacuum cleaner is also updated to interact with dust for this kit.
However, there are no brooms or off the grid options for this.

The Sims 4 Country Kitchen Kit

A build/buy kit! The theme is a rustic kitchen, with clutter, counters, a new stove and fridge. This pack will not contain any game play.
there are at least 4 colour swatches for the counters, but we don’t know the exact details yet. We will update once we have it.

The Sims 4 Throwback Fit Kit

The Create-a-Sim kit, with a lot of new CAS items, that are inspired by the ’90s.
It’s called fit, but in the 90’s lots of people wore that as every day wear.
There’s items for adults (teen to elder), kids and also toddlers.

What do you think of kits? Are they something you are interested in? Or do you prefer the larger packs?
